"Des murmures... à travers mes cheveux. Je les sens dans mes aisselles, dans mes dents. Les rivières, l'éclairs, ils remontent le courant, jusqu'à l'oreille de mon esprit.
Ils me disent-.

Done! What did I get myself into… texts and french version are incoming, for now I have to eat and go to work.

Updated the page somewhat, still not finished, sorry I’m SLOOOOW
I’m less tired but still… and asked myself many questions with the lighting here. It may happen again, Chapter 3 is designed to be challenging to me.

Eeeeyyyy that page takes tiiime and I’m like falling asleep or wanting to pretty often these days.
So here’s a flat version, I know some of you like that 🙂
I’ll try to sleep and not get covid, and next week you’ll have the beautiful render!
Lao’s language doesn’t look familiar. Text-like doodles, or are you using a script?
Anyway, I like the look of the two texts overlaid like that. It really evokes the feel of hearing a language you only kind of understand – that “translating in the background” feeling.
It is loosely inspired from mongol (if it was in a physician’s handwriting) – commenter Kruos Marifica made an actual alphabet and, though we did not yet agree on pronunciation, she translated the first song at the beginning of the chapter into script that I copied. I did not however make her translate anything that I randomly came up with, so much of the rest is me surfing on what’s already been done, trying to maintain consistency whenever I’m up to it^^.
But, thanks for appreciating them! However small they are, they still take time and mind. Plus, it’s nice to know all this experimenting is paying off 🙂
It’s not openly written everywhere, but this comic is very open to the reader’s suggestions/ideas/questions 🙂 I’ve already implemented some of them, feel free to make more!
This reminds me of travelling across the U.S. with my mother when i was a wee lad and she only had two 8-track cassettes to listen to.
To this day I still can’t stand Marty Robbins or Herb Albert
Then I feel lucky to know nothing about them^^ Yeah, that’s the general mood here – and a setup for – something.
Lao’s caravan playlist has met its match. I love the visualization of the lyrics, and how he is picking up pieces of the language through the songs!
I always felt that the best way to learn a language was to be thrown defenseless into it, and being exposed again and again to the same words, seeing with what intention they’re spoken^^
The visualization is not yet complete, it’s missing the rythm and pitch hints!
But thank you 🙂
wow, lao’s going through it
Get some rest!!!!
Well it was time that the roles reversed somewhat^^
I do, I did, thank you 🙂
Tired, I know tired. Be tired enough to go by a mountain and not notice it.
Or forget appointments entirely^^ luckily, this comic I’m not forgetting!
Yeah, super don’t-get COVID! That thing’s no fun even when it’s playing “nice”.
Sleep well!
For you, I’ll try^^
